Scope & Learning Outcomes:
Orion Training strongly believes in the continuous development of specialized skills in the maritime industry and as such is committed to offering Courses and Webinars for Professional Training, designed to meet the need for skilled labour in the most demanding and rapidly changing areas of the shipping industry. Shipping for Non-Shipping Professionals Webinar addresses the needs of Professionals, which may be directly or indirectly involved in the integrated Maritime Network and provides comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the structures, processes, and institutional practices of shipping in the marketplace.
Beneficiaries:
The Webinar is suitable for professionals working within or associated with shipping Organizations without necessarily having previous shipping background. Such professionals for example are primarily those working within the IT, legal, and or accounting fields. Participants will be provided with supporting material during the training.

Dr Emmanouil Nikolaidis
Cpt Class C’, Economist (BSc, MSc, PhD in Maritime Economics and Policy).
Dr Emmanouil Nikolaidis is Managing director of a private consulting firm, graduated from the Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos and followed onboard career for 3 years as Captain Class C’, while he studied Economics at the University of Piraeus (BA in Maritime Economics, 1995). He obtained an MSc in Shipping Business and International Trade from the University of Aegean in 2001, and his PhD in 2005 from the University of Piraeus. He is the co-author of two books: “Basic Principles of Shipping Science” and “Maritime Economic Geography”, ed. J&J Hellas. He has published several scientific papers and Conference papers on the topic of shipping economics and International Trade. He is experienced in project management and EU financed projects and he is currently running scientific EU projects. He was Lecturer of Maritime Economics for two years at the University of Piraeus and of Environmental Economics at the MSc Programme of the Athens Panteion University. Since 2000 he is lecturing on Maritime Economics of the School of Economic Sciences and Administration at the Frederick University, Cyprus, Department of Maritime Studies (BSc and MSc programs), currently being an Assistant Professor. He is member of the Greek Union of Economists, Associate Fellow of Nautical Institute, and the International Association of Maritime Economists. He proves excellent command on EU funded projects running a business consulting and development firm in Greece, Cyprus, Montenegro and India.
