Crisis Management

Crisis Management includes the assessment of risks, determination of the way to achieve the lowest possible (or acceptable) level of risk, the establishment of systems and procedures to maintain the system at an acceptable level, the preparation (contingency planning) required to deal with events which could take place, and the management of response organizations and actions resulting from this preparation when an incident occurs. Each one of these elements has an economic cost and a  key element in crisis management is the rational allocation of these costs.

SCOPE OF THE COURSE

The Crisis Management Course aims at preparing attendees for crisis incidents, by ensuring their rapid and adequate response, while at the same time teaching them how to maintain clear lines of reporting and communication during the event and after the recovery from the incident.

INSTRUCTOR

Mr. Demetrios Paliatsos is a former Hellenic Navy Vice Admiral served at all hierarchy grades and duties in several Ships and Hellenic Navy Commands. In the last few years, he has served as a Training Manager in QMS Maritime Training Center. He is a Monterey Postgraduate University Bd/Md holder in Systems Engineering.  He is also a qualified Navigation Assessor, by the Naval Institute of England.  He has served as a Security Branch Director for NATO Installations and Harbors.
